Haynes International Flute Competition Finalists 2008

The William S. Haynes Flute Company is pleased to announce the 2008 Haynes International Flute Competition. This event will be held on June 6 & 7, 2008 at the First & Second Street Church located in Boston, Massachusetts. The Haynes International Flute Competition is open to all flutists up to and including the age of 35. The First Prize will be a 14K gold handmade Haynes flute. The Second Prize will be a silver handmade Haynes flute with soldered toneholes and the Third Prize a silver handmade Haynes flute with drawn toneholes. All of these flutes will have hand-decorated key work.

The preliminary jury will include Paula Robison, David Chu and Alan Weiss. The final round jury will include a panel of international flutists: Claudi Arimany (Spain), Jeanne Baxtresser (USA), Michel Debost (USA/France), Guoliang Han (China), and Paula Robison (USA). Five finalists will be selected from the initial applicant pool.

Applications and supporting materials must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2008 and received not after February 15, 2008.
