HAYNES SEPTEMBER 2006 PRESS RELEASE
The
Wm. S. Haynes Company is proud to inform the flute community of
the 25 new RAMPAL MODELS. These are limited edition flutes made
by some of the same flute makers who crafted Jean-Pierre Rampal’s
Haynes flute. The design includes the same metal tubing as Rampal’s
treasured flute that was on display at the recent NFA convention
in Pittsburg, PA.
Other news of interest from America’s oldest existing flute
maker…
New materials available – a heavier wall thickness of 19.5
is now available on handmade models by request, as well as flutes
in 10 Karat Gold.
The new Autograph Program is a selective and new program available
to flutists. This program consists of unique collaborations with
other esteemed headjoint makers for an additional charge. Whether
it is a traditional or modern-style headjoint, the Wm. S. Haynes
Co., Inc is proud to work with some of the notable names in the
business that include Martin Gordon and Faulisi to its list, along
with some of its past makers.
Most importantly in 2008, the Wm. S. Haynes Co., Inc will celebrate
its 120th anniversary. Special events will acknowledge the rich
history of the Haynes flute and its place in American flute making.
Of special interest to flutists and the flute making community…
a real documentary of the company history sponsored by the Haynes
Co. in collaboration with writer/flute historian Susan Berdahl.

company documentary will be a new project for Ms. Berdahl, that
will compile her extensive knowledge of the Haynes legacy including
updates as well new facts for all flute history enthusiasts.
