MURAMATSU AMERICA announces the following summer event:

THE ORCHESTRAL FLUTE INSTITUTE
Study with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Flute Section! Prinicipal Flutist Ervin Monroe,along with DSO flutists Sharon Sparrow, Philp Dikeman, and Jeffrey Zook offer their insights and expertise in this masterclass that focuses on orchestral performing. The classes primarily involve group playing of major orchestral works, as well as some individual performance. Lectures and demonstrations include the art of ensemble orchestral playing, with an emphasis on style, intonation, special fingerings, and proper execution of dynamics. This comprehensive class looks at the individual works as a whole, not simply the famous solo passages. In addition, Mr. Zook will offer sessions devoted exclusively to piccolo playing.

The schedule is as follows:
Monday, July 17 through Friday July 21.

Classes are held on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan- a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.

Classes typically run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
