The American Flute Guild is available to appraise your instrument(s) for insurance purposes. We would like to emphasize the importance of maintaining a current appraisal with your insurance company to protect your investment in the unfortunate event of loss or damage. Our staff has more than 10 years experience appraising all brands of flutes while assisting insurance companies to find comparable replacements for lost or damaged flutes.

If you do not yet have insurance to protect your instrument, please call or email us to discuss your insurance options. A membership in Chamber Music America, or the National Flute Association, provides a member discount with some specialty insurance companies. Be sure to read the fine print on home-owner and renter insurance policies to confirm that your instrument is covered while in transit. These policies are more economical than paying for insurance with the shipper and they are more reliable, too. It is very difficult to file a claim with the shipper and get the insurance value of your instrument should it become damaged or lost in transit!

REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR AN INSURANCE APPRAISAL
• Your complete name and address, with phone number (and fax number)
• Your email address
• Name, model and serial number of your flute
• A description of the general features of your flute - the material (gold, silver, etc.) (C Foot or B Foot; inline or offset G; special mechanisms? engraved lip or keys? Any customizations or modifications? Open or Closed hole? Drawn or Soldered tone holes? Also if you can provide any other description of its condition, extra headjoints, footjoints, etc. It is also helpful if you can provide the name or place of purchase.)
Required fee for appraisal service is $25.00
